Bloom Grocery Store Monitors Swine Flu Outbreak
Company prepared to respond quickly to protect customer and associates
SALISBURY, N.C. — Bloom Grocery Store wants to assure its customers that the company is closely monitoring the swine flu outbreak in Mexico and the United States. The company is taking appropriate precautions to protect customers and associates.
Bloom Grocery Store reminds customers that the swine flu is not a food safety issue since the swine flu is not transmitted via food. As noted by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA), all pork and poultry products are safe to eat. The government will continue to work with food suppliers to monitor the nation’s food supply system to ensure the safety of food products in the United States. As always, Bloom Grocery Store encourages customers to follow safe meat handling procedures and cooking processes, including cooking pork at temperatures of 160 degrees or higher.
Bloom Grocery Store will continue to monitor the situation to make sure the company is fully prepared to protect and support our customers and associates. Bloom Grocery Store fully understands the critical service it provides to the communities it serves and will be prepared to continue to serve customers throughout this event.
